    "content": "The onus lies with the Kenyan Government to tell its people why it has taken too long to make a pronouncement as to who owns Migingo Island. That is the bone of contention. As Kenyans, we have heard all manner of voices about Migingo Island. We have heard from the Members what happened during the voter registration exercise. The Kenyan Government is not on leave, it is running. It is high time it woke up from its slumber and protected its people. A Government that does not protect its people has no business being in power. My people were slaughtered in 2006/2007. I stood in this House and raised the red flag that people were being slaughtered. It took six to seven months for the Government to respond. I hope the same is not going to happen for the people of Migingo Island."
