"content": "Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady, I support the amendment, but with caution because health is a devolved function. However, the board membership does not have a nominee from the Council of Governors. This will bring a big issue and they will even go to court and block the enactment of the Bill. First, it is indicated in the Bill that the chairperson shall be appointed by the Cabinet Secretary. The other members of the board will be the Principal Secretary of the Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation and the Director-General of Health. The others are the Attorney General or a designated representative, two representatives nominated by health professional associations registered by the Registrar of Societies and who are not regulated or registered by any regulatory body, one representative from the private sector appointed by the Cabinet Secretary, one representative from consumer rights bodies appointed by the Cabinet Secretary and the Chief Executive Officer. Where are the governors’ representatives?"
