Temporary Deputy Chairlady, I beg to move:- THAT, Clause 65 of the Bill be amended by deleting the words “two hundred thousand shillings or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year” and substituting therefor the words “one million shillings or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years”. We are enhancing the penalties for persons doing illegal quarrying in forest areas from Kshs200,000 to Kshs1 million."
