Temporary Deputy Chairlady, I beg to move:- THAT, Clause 76 of the Bill of the Bill be amended by deleting paragraph (a) and substituting therefor the following new paragraph— (a)any land which immediately before the commencement of this Act, was gazetted or registered as a forest reserve as set out in the Third Schedule to this Act, or under any other relevant law shall be deemed to be a public forest under this Act; and Whereas the Third Schedule covers what was in the Forest Act with the variations that would be undertaken, there are other laws that have forest areas that will not be covered. So, what we are trying to do is we want to give protection to other forest reserves that have been put under the Water Act and the Antiquities and Monuments Act. Some of these forests are like those at the Coast region. So, the new wording will protect those as well."
