(a) Mr. Loperit Kadumo Kapon was arrested on 11th December, 2010 at Koshelei Village, Mosol Location, which falls under Pokot County, after killing an elephant in Turkana South Game Reserve, which is located in Kainuk Sub-location within Kainuk Location in Turkana South District. The crime for which he was arrested was committed within Turkana County, and not Pokot County. Kainuk Sub-location and Kainuk Location fall under Turkana County. (b) The crime was committed outside the jurisdiction of Marich and Sigor hence the reason as to why the suspect was handed over to Lodwar within Turkana County, where the crime was committed."
