    "content": "Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I rise to support the Land Laws (Amendment) Bill. A number of changes arising from the Ndungu Report were not implemented because of the politics of the moment. It is good that this Parliament can now soberly look at the laws that have been in place and make the necessary amendments so that they can be in tandem with the expectations. Kenya being an agricultural country means that the land we have is more valuable than any other asset that we may have. It may also be more valuable than in other countries which rely on other things. Therefore, the management and utilisation of the land we have is very important, hence the importance of these laws. The colonialists came to Kenya and allocated themselves land the way they wanted.
