    "content": "In brief, I wish to make some comments on the Political Parties (Amendment) Bill which is before us. I have some issues with it. We have so many political parties because people are not comfortable with the rules that govern them. The reason we need to have the Act amended is to strengthen the parties and the rules which govern them. You realise that elections in the country are always preceded by nominations which affect the real election itself. I would wish us to support this Bill so that we have a very strong background on financial matters, how coalitions are made and how parties are funded so that, those which claim to have Members in this House or even in the county assemblies are funded. I thought we should have a Bill that will ensure that parties which have one representative either in the National Assembly or in the counties as a governor or member of the county assembly (MCA) should be funded, so that they have the power to run their parties."
