"content": "Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to touch on the issue of employment, particularly the issue of out-sourcing. Airtel Kenya and Yu have outsourced a number of services, which has resulted directly in job losses in Kenya. Telkom Kenya CEO, Mr. Michael Gossen, and I want to quote him, said:- âThe price wars could result in restructuring of their work forceâ. This is another way of saying that they are going to cut back on direct employment. On 8th February, 2011, Mr. Bob Collymore, the CEO of Safaricom, was quoted as saying that there are 3,000 people whom we need to keep the engine running in Safaricom. Right now, our strategy is not to reduce the work force and I have made it clear.â"
