    "content": "Over the last two weeks, you have heard in great detail the achievements of my administration in the last 12 months. You have heard from my Deputy President as well as Cabinet Secretaries the lengths to which we have gone and we will continue to go in order to transform this nation. I want, today, to give context to the work we have done; what it means to the Kenyan people and where we are heading in the coming years. Our economy is resilient at a time of global economic and financial turmoil that has seen some of the strongest performing economies in the world stumble into recession. I am glad that the macro-economic foundations of Kenya are strong and sustainable. Our real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth was 5.8 per cent in 2015 and we expect to hit the 6 per cent mark over the next 12 months. Inflation has remained under control and our foreign exchange reserves have improved significantly. We all know that our dreams for decent jobs, more profitable businesses and more taxes to pay for our health and education are depended on a strong economy."
