(Prof.) Kindiki): Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to move:- THAT, pursuant to the provisions of the Standing Order No.24(6), the thanks of the Senate be recorded for the exposition of public policy contained in the Address of the President delivered on Thursday, 31st March, 2016. As has become the tradition now, just before we went on the short recess – I am grateful that we have all come back – the President addressed the nation in his capacity as the Head of State as required by the Constitution. In that Address, he did as required and addressed a joint-sitting of both Houses of Parliament; the National Assembly and the Senate, to explain what has been achieved by this administration in the fulfillment of the constitutional requirements that are laid up in Articles 10, 132 and 240 of the Constitution."
