    "content": "Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I want to support the Petitioner by noting that Kakamega Forest is one of the tropical rain forests that we have in the western Kenya region. It has very unique biodiversity comprising of both plants and animals. The Petitioner forgot to mention the famous “Mama Mutere” tree, whose home is Kakamega Forest. Besides Kakamega Forest, the Kenya Forest Service should look around the country to make sure that all the forests are protected. We are now struggling to attain 10 per cent of tree cover. As we look into this Petition, as a Member of the Departmental Committee on Environment and Natural Resources, I would like KFS to consider that aspect.
