    "content": "and this is what we intend to do in future.” The education sector in an economy like ours is so important and we are trying to reform it. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, last year we had teachers’ strike and their promises have not been fulfilled. His Excellency the President said there are not enough classrooms to accommodate students and 3,000 classrooms are going to be built. As we contemplate that, we have a shortage of almost over 80,000 teachers in this county, who are required to meet the demand. We are not seeing any effort from the education sector in recruiting about 70,000 teachers to address that shortfall which has accumulated over the years. That will be something good for the education sector."
