Pursuant to Standing Order No.84, I wish to make a Personal Statement regarding an adverse mention of myself in the course of the debate this morning by another Hon. Member. The Member for Kiminini, while debating a particular Bill, mentioned that female politicians are wealthy and therefore, do not need financial support from political parties. He referred to me by name in a negative light. His statement seems to imply that women should survive on their own politically if they are wealthy and yet, even my wealthy male colleagues still receive support from the political parties.
