"content": "Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I take this opportunity to thank male Members of this House. Previous Houses have never supported this rule. Our male Members of Parliament have really supported us. I thank them and may God bless them. There is a saying that that behind every successful man there is a woman. We want this House to be successful. We want more women to be in this House so that it can succeed. We have seen very many countries which have achieved the two-thirds gender rule. The time has come for Kenya to have more women in Parliament. It is very important. Whenever very important people come to this country, they always say that women must be supported. For example, the President of the United States of America, Mr. Obama, and the Pope said that women should be supported. I am very happy because time has come and I can see the mood of the House is that this Bill is going to be supported and implemented. When it comes to nomination, I would suggest that we have competitive nomination so that we do not have favouritism. When we support this Bill, we are going to have a level playing ground. I am sure women are going to participate by contesting in the constituencies. I support this Bill. Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker."
