"content": "Mr. Speaker, Sir, I wish to thank the Vice Chairperson for the response. However, I would like to seek further clarification in view of the fact that the Ministry says that the CID officers do not always attend the vetting committees; they attend when need arises. The information we have is that all meetings, without exception, are attended by officers from the CID. Is the Vice Chairperson, therefore, saying that they will now be withdrawn and will not be attending all meetings? The CID officers who are doing a very good job in my county of dealing with crime have been diverted from doing their core business of investigating crimes that occur. We need them to do their core business instead of sitting in vetting committees since doing so conflicts with their responsibility. What if in the process of vetting, some further crime is committed, will they investigate themselves? These officers are intimidating our people. Whenever they see those officers they cannot go there. Even criminals are entitled to apply and be considered for registration.
