"content": "This year, more money has been allocated to the counties than last year. It is not enough but it is more per county and, more particularly, the grants that go to counties should be seen on the ground, because they are given deliberately for a particular purpose, say, allocation for maternal health care. There is a very particular arrangement in the tabulation; a column for county, number of deliveries and projected income. The number of deliveries state that Bungoma had 32,000 newborns. As a result of that number of children being born, they have been given Kshs189 million to be distributed among the health facilities they have there. Kiambu had 37,000 newborns, meaning that they will get Kshs221 million. My county, West Pokot, has 8,757 deliveries recorded. So, it will get Kshs51 million."
