Temporary Deputy Chairman, I beg to move:- THAT, Clause 49 of the Bill be amended in sub-clause (6) by deleting the words “of not less than ten million or to a term of imprisonment of not less than ten years or both” and substituting therefor the words “not exceeding ten million shillings or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding ten years or to both”. This is to align the provisions with the sentencing guidelines by setting the ceiling for the penalties."
