Members will realise that this further amendment omits all the words that come after the word “Act” in the original part (a) of the Departmental Committee’s amendment to Clause (2). We basically want the definition of “petroleum agreement” to mean “any agreement, licence, contract or other arrangements between the Government and a contractor to conduct upstream petroleum operations in accordance to the provisions of this Act.” We have left out the section of the original amendment that went on to say “and may include – (a) production sharing contracts; (b) concession agreements; and (c) service contracts.”"
