"content": "Secondly, Article 249(I) and (2) (b) of the Constitution protect the sovereignty of the people. The people have the mandate to vet whoever will be in the selection panel. We saw this happen when the Chief Justice was being appointed. Every citizen was given the chance to send a memorandum. We are depriving the people of this privilege and giving it to the PSC. This is an independent commission. Article 67 of the Constitution protects it from being directed by either another authority or person.
