Temporary Deputy Chairlady, I beg to move:- THAT, Clause 47 of the Bill be amended in paragraph (c)− (a) in the definition of the term “lawful improvements”, by deleting the words “means improvements which increase or improve the value of land which have been carried out bona fide with all the approvals and consents having been obtained in accordance with all applicable law and includes” and substituting therefor the words “means improvements which increase or improve the value of land which have been quantified by a qualified valuer in accordance with all applicable law and includes” (b) in the definition of the term “substantial transaction”, by deleting the words “means a transaction that involves the leasing or licensing of land to a local or foreign investor either alone or in a joint venture to carry out developments in agriculture and other approved ventures with direct developmental benefits for Kenya through” and substituting therefor the words “means a transaction that involves the transfer, leasing or licensing of land to a local or foreign investor either alone or in a joint venture to carry out developments in agriculture and other approved ventures with direct developmental benefits for Kenya through” The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly.
