As we consider this Petition, I would call upon those concerned, including the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries to ensure that farmers of macadamia are given full freedom to sell their produce whichever time they want because they depend on it for their livelihoods. I just want to call upon my constituents who deal in macadamia as their sole income earning activity to continue doing so. Harassment of my constituents by police should stop so that my people can be encouraged to continue farming macadamia."
