    "content": "Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I rise to support this Petition particularly because if you look at the growth of macadamia, there is a very clear pattern. It is a sector which is highly dominated by a few cartels of individuals who do not want a free market economy to thrive for farmers to benefit. Even before the 1980s, there were very many macadamia trees that coexisted with other plants in many farms across the Central Kenya region but we no longer see them. Even the macadamia nut has become an elite product. It is no longer available to the common mwananchi. It is important that this Petition addresses laws that not only seek to empower the farmer but also safeguard the interests of business people."
