There is empirical information suggesting that we are not doing so badly in terms of our indebtedness. However, I dare say that we are not necessarily in a comfort zone in terms of indebtedness. It is a deal that I will find very difficult to oppose. Therefore, I am supporting it. As we secure this deal, let us take time to interrogate the implications of this hefty borrowing on Kenya’s debt situation. Hefty borrowing has become quite common in Kenya."
