    "content": "Under Article 201(c) of our Constitution, we are required to ensure that the burden and use of resources and public borrowing shall be shared equitably between the present and future generations. Based on these constitutional provisions, I find myself constrained to support this Motion. Hardly three years ago, our national debt stood at below Kshs2 trillion. In three short years, with the approval of this House, our national debt currently stands at almost Kshs3.5 trillion. What it means is that every Kenyan, including Members of this House and children being born at this particular time, are indebted to a tune of almost Kshs90,000. That might not look much, but if you compare that with our GDP and even with its rebasing, it is substantial."
