"content": "Hon. Deputy Speaker, as I wait for the real Motion to come, I want to support the Petition by my colleague. Something is happening to local contractors. He is not the first one. We have other cases. I do not know whether the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure is vetting contractors properly. A road in my constituency was given to a local contractor who is taking too long to complete it. He abandons the road and leaves the equipment there to rot. Sometimes he removes the equipment from the site. This particular case is not unique. The Ministry should come out clearly on who should monitor road construction projects. If local contractors are unable to handle the volume of work given, vetting should be done, so that the right contractors get the jobs. I find it hard to accept the fact that there is a problem. We just have to take the bull by the horns. I support."
