    "content": "Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I want to say that this is a very important matter that has been raised in this House by Hon. Mwangangi. River pollution in this country has become a total disaster. Most of our rivers are now polluted. Water that our people drink is actually not suitable for drinking. Athi River has suffered greatly because of the industrialisation that is taking place in Athi River and Nairobi. That river is heavily polluted. Most of the fauna and flora along and within the river has died. So, this is a matter of national importance. I would like this matter to be dealt with expeditiously so that a final and long-term solution is found not only for Athi River, but for most rivers in Kenya and especially those at the Coast. Thank you."
