    "content": "Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady. I beg to move:- THAT, the Bill be amended by deleting the current Clause 5 and reinstating the provisions on the functions of the Board as follows- Functions of 5. (1) The functions of the Board shall be to – the Board a) issue licences to qualified persons under the provisions of this Act: b) take disciplinary measures in accordance with the provisions of this Act; c) enter and inspect sites where construction, installation, erection, alteration, renovation, maintenance, processing or manufacturing works are in progress for the purpose of verifying that- (i) engineering professional services and works are undertaken by persons registered under this Act; (ii) standards and professional ethics and relevant health and safety aspects are observed, in line with the Occupational Safety and Health Act, 2007; a) assess, approve or reject engineering technology qualifications of foreign b) persons intending to offer engineering technology professional services or works in Kenya; The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly.
