    "content": "One of my Members in the Committee said that she brings in an air of freshness to the Commission and a new angle having been a Senior Lecturer. The nominee was honest, knowledgeable in procurement matters and was passionate about the teaching profession. Further, the nominee understood the functions of the Privatisation Commission. The Committee also observed that as a public officer, she may need to relinquish her teaching position in the event that her appointment is approved by the National Assembly in line with Section 5(1)(d) of the Privatisation Act, 2005, which bars a public officer from serving as a member of the Privatisation Commission. Our recommendation is that she has to step down as a Senior Lecturer because according to Section 5(1)(d) of the Privatisation Act, those nominated should not be public officers."
