"content": "We held approval hearings last Friday. I will just move very quickly to mention each of the nominees. Dr. Abdirizak Aralle Nunow holds a PhD in Human Ecology from Amsterdam University, Netherlands, Masters Degree in Environmental Planning and Management from Moi University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from Kenyatta University. He has a wealth of experience in environmental matters having worked as a lead expert in the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) and the Directorate of Social and Environmental Affairs of the Inter-Parliamentary Union of Inter-Governmental Authority on Development (IPU-IGAD) in Addis Ababa. We did not receive any memorandum for or against this nominee. The Committee noted that the nominee was open minded, honest and exhibited impressive knowledge of topical issues touching on market, competition and consumer welfare that will be invaluable when discharging his mandate as a member of the Competition Authority of Kenya. He is currently serving as a lecturer at Moi University and a member of the Monetary Policy Committee of Kenya and Proceeds of Crime and Anti-money Laundering Act Advisory Committee. That is the brief about Dr. Aralle. The second one is Ms. Eunice Maranya. She holds an MBA Degree from the United States International University (USIU), Santiego, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture from the University of Nairobi. She is currently undertaking a Doctorate in Business Administration at the SMC University, Switzerland. She has professional experience in banking sector having worked for 14 years at the Kenya Commercial Bank both as branch and operations manager during which she gained a lot of practical experience in many areas. She is a former CEO of Kenya Alliance of Resident Association from 2002 to 2004 during which she achieved a lot."
