    "content": "Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, first of all let me congratulate Mr. M’Mithiaru for bringing this Motion here; it is which is very important. It is over 10 years since we committed ourselves into making sure that the MDGs are realized. We now have only about four years to go, yet other than education and HIV/AIDS, there is not much to show for it. We do not have to sign any document. We do not even have to be a member of the United Nations (UN) and be forced by charters to develop our people. We understand how the environment has caused hunger to this country. We know that if we degrade the environment, Kenya can become a desert. It is upon us, even without being members of organizations or signing the MDGs--- It is the responsibility of the Government and our own responsibility to protect the environment."
