"content": "On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir. I have been listening to Sen. (Dr.) Khalwale talking and I am wondering whether he is in order to mislead us about the interpretation of Clause 1(a) which states that a person elected under Clause 1 for a seat in Parliament or a county assembly shall be eligible for re-election under Clause 1 for two terms only. That means that if they had been there and they want to be re-nominated for the third term, they will not. This Clause does not suggest that they must be nominated for two consecutive terms. That is a misunderstanding that creates a lot of unnecessary interpretation and debate, specifically for this Clause because at the end of the day, we are saying that this person should not be elected more than two terms. It does not mean that if you have been here for one term, you must again be nominated for a second term."
