"content": " Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I beg to reply. There were 486 employees of the former ECK; 138 retired and were paid Kshs94,866,117, while 348 opted to join the Civil Service and were due to be paid Kshs60,832,702. The Treasury promised the Ministry of Justice, National Cohesion and Constitutional Affairs that the funds would be released before July 2010, but it was not done because of the reform requirements that are putting a lot of pressure on the Treasury. But I trust they should release the funds as soon as possible. I would like to thank Mr. Kioni for raising this matter and drawing my attention to it and we will do our best to get them paid."
