Temporary Deputy Speaker, I rise to support this Motion on the Ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kenya and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland concerning Defence Cooperation. This particular Report enhances, irons out and outlines the Defence Cooperation Agreement between the two nations and establishes a framework in terms of how we should proceed in our agreement in use of our military space, use of training that enhances capacity and the framework we should operate in, in exchanging experience and knowledge for the mutual benefit of both countries. We live in dangerous times. We know that we are surrounded by threats, especially in the Horn of Africa where there is insecurity. This country is in need of enhanced training and opportunities to exchange knowledge and learn better skills in terms of how to deal with terrorism.
