The Committee on Appointments is a Select Committee consisting of the Speaker as the Chairperson, the Deputy Speaker, the Leader of the Majority Party, the Leader of the Minority Party, the Deputy Leader of the Majority Party, the Deputy Leader of the Minority Party and not more than 22 other Members nominated by the House Business Committee. It is appointed in accordance with Standing Order No. 204(2) which provides that:- “The Committee on Appointments shall be appointed within seven days on assembly of a new House and shall serve for a period of three years and that those appointed thereafter shall serve for the remainder of the term of the Assembly.” It is for this reason that I present this list of the reconstitution of the Committee to serve the remainder of the term of this House.
