"content": "Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. Sorry for that. What this House has done today through the amendments brought by Hon. Njomo, in my view, is going to create more resources to lend to our people. I think by and large, in a growing economy like the one we have in our country, it makes no sense to see a financial institution declaring billions, even over Kshs10 billion, in profits. I think it is high time we also took keen interest in the financial institutions in this country. Secondly, I would also wish – and I believe this Bill is going to be assented to – the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) Governor would move very fast and ensure its implementation. I have been going through the Banking Act and nowhere does it provide for closure of banks which have financial problems, but we have seen some being closed almost indefinitely. So, I think it is high time we as a House urged the CBK Governor to ensure the implementation of this Act. Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker."
