    "content": "Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. We are not passing this Bill for an individual when we participate in the National Assembly. He is referring to soldiers in Somalia. Let me be specific on this clause. I am referring to Clause 11. The Kenya Defence Forces (Amendment) Bill proposes to amend Section 24 of the Kenya Defence Forces Act so as to give the President authority to extend terms of office of the Chief of Defence Forces, the Vice Chief of the Defence Forces and the Service Commanders. What I am saying is that this Bill is not in the spirit of the Constitution we passed. We are moving away from that as a country and yet we have come up with a situation where, if our President wins the next election, it will be the end of it."
