"content": "Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady, the effect of the amendment is to provide that where the information sought concerns life or liberty of a person, it shall be provided within 48 hours and not more than 14 days. The clause as provided by the House allowed for an extension of not less than 15 working days where the application is complex or relates to a large volume of information. We therefore, said if the information requires more time it can be extended by 15 days. What the Senate has done is to say the information must be available within 48 hours and if it requires more time then it be extended by 14 days. We have no problem with this. In fact, they have just reduced by one day."
