"content": "On Wednesday 23rd March 2016, Hon. Kubai Iringo, MP, on behalf of the residents of Igembe Central Constituency, presented a petition in this House regarding the deplorable state of a 28-kilometre section of the Meru-Maua Road, from Farm to Murera Gate of the Meru National Park. In the Petition, the prayers were as follows:- (i) to investigate why the Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure and Urban Development has not disbursed the full amount required to re-carpet the 28 kilometre section of the Meru-Maua Road. (ii) ensure that the Government sets aside the remaining Kshs70 million for tarmacking the road in 2016/2017; and, (iii) establish when construction work shall commence, and the timeline within which the construction is set to be concluded."
