"content": "Hon. Deputy Speaker, the second petition was presented in the House on Thursday 5th May, 2016 by Hon. Peter Weru, on behalf of the residents of Magutu and Iriani wards in Mathira Constituency, regarding the dilapidated state of the Karatina-Jambo Road through Ihwage Giaikabei and Kagochi to Karatina University and Gitunduti Gaikuyu and Karatina Hospital. The petitioner prayers were that the National Assembly, through the Departmental Committee on Transport, Public Works and Housing:- (i) investigates the circumstances behind the delay in disbursement of funds meant for re- carpeting the dilapidated tarmac section and upgrading the earth section to bitumen standard; and, (ii) intervenes with a view to ensuring that the tarmac section of the said road is speedily re-carpeted and the earth section is tarmacked to avert further loss of lives and property through accidents."
