    "content": "We are a pluralist, democratic, constitutional democracy founded on the tenets of this Constitution. Among the values that Article 4 refers to in Article 10 are the national values and principles of governance, which include democracy and participation of the people. The moment you a pass a clause such as this, you infringe on the very heart of the democratic principles and you limit the level of participation of the people in the democratic process. If the Member for Gatanga did not have the liberty to switch party midstream, he would not have allowed the people of Gatanga to exercise the right of participation as enshrined in the principles and values in Article 10 of the Constitution."
