"content": "Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I also wish to condole with the people of Nyakach and the Member of Parliament who are with us for the loss of that great hero. Most of us never knew him but we read in the papers of his participation in the struggle for multi-partyism. This country lived during through an era we normally call the “Dark Age” when Members were not allowed to think and move freely. Hon. Deputy Speaker, this gentleman fought for it. It is only unfortunate that even in this House, we are approaching the same Dark Age when people were not allowed to air their political views, reason and act independently. I want to condole with his family. Wherever he is, I would like to tell him that whatever he fought for, some people want to muzzle it. However, for those who are still there, we will fight hard to ensure that the democratic space they fought for remains."
