"content": "In evaluating the commissioners, there were various things including issues of integrity. I want to comment on that but not in respect of the commissioners. If we demand of others that they should meet certain standards of integrity, we should expect all of us to comply with those standards of integrity as outlined in the Constitution. What frustrates me is that nowhere in the Report is it mentioned that even those participants in elections, including candidates who are not clean will not be allowed. We have participants who flout the law and the Constitution on issues of integrity. I hope that as we seek to get a clean election, we have a clean Commission and a clean slate of candidates across the country. If we do not, we are not going to end up with a clean output. We have people in this country who cannot step out of our borders because they are hiding from every jurisdiction outside this country. They are afraid they will be captured. If we have candidates of that nature, we are not going to get clean outputs in elections. We are going to get results that are, in fact, subject to manipulation. I am disappointed in the absence in the mention of integrity in the rest of the processes beyond the commissioners and the secretariat."
