    "content": "Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I rise to support the Report of the Mediation Committee. Many people have been talking of Africa’s “resource curse”, specifically the “oil curse”. There is no resource curse or Africa’s oil curse. There is only a management and political curse. This new law is putting in place a system to ensure more transparency, better management of the resources in this country so that the resources are more equitably distributed, especially to the host communities. I commend this Bill and the Report of the Mediation Committee because it will ensure that the oil resources are a blessing and not a curse to this country."
