    "content": "THAT, the Bill be amended by inserting the following new clause immediately after Clause 3− Amendment of 3A. Section 10 of the Income Tax Act is amended by deleting section 10 of Cap paragraph (g). 470. Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady, last year, this House passed an amendment to remove Withholding Tax on winnings by players from the income tax for non-residents, but left the locals to continue being charged Withholding Tax. After consultations with the National Treasury and the KRA, it came out that it is not possible to withhold those winnings because you need the pin numbers of the people who are betting and winning and also the i-tax requirements. For administration purposes, this clause cannot be implemented. We also have another clause that introduces additional taxes on the betting companies."
