"content": "Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I was saying that the letter written by His Excellency the Ambassador of the US to Carson clearly indicates that they are funding the witnesses who are out there. I want to remind Members that the US itself withdrew from the ICC. However, they are spending money to fund witnesses to the ICC process. The way they are doing it is, one; they wanted this done in public just like Ocampo did. He read the names in public. Secondly, the intended outcome is to change the political dynamics in our country in a positive way. They know what is positive and what is negative. It is upon this House to decide whether we would want to continue surrendering our sovereignty to others out there. I know others may have referred to Mr. Ocampo as the third principal in this country. However, it a question of where it is, that we hold ourselves. Yes, we put in ourselves in problems. But it is important that we make sure that we get out of it with dignity. Today, we have made a bold step. We are capable of sorting out our own issues. Let us not hide under anything else. Let us not sell ourselves wholesale to the international community like people who have no dignity and people who cannot do their own things. We do not belong to the category of failed states. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, with those remarks, I beg to second."
