Members, therefore, the Motion in purporting that a repeal of the International Crimes Act would immediately release Kenya from our obligations under the Rome Statute, and that criminal investigations and prosecutions arising out of the post-election violence, which took place while Kenya was a party to the Rome Statute, could be undertaken outside the framework of the Rome Statute. That is contrary to the law, because the Rome Statute is part of our law."
