    "content": "Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for that. Most of these institutions were started so that they could generate revenue and ensure prudent use of public resources. Unfortunately, we have seen what has happened to even the Kenya Meat Commission (KMC) which was responsible for establishing the Meat Commission of Botswana. The Meat Commission of Botswana is today one of the largest industries in that country. It is contributing greatly to employment, exporting meat and live livestock to Arab countries and other parts of the world while the KMC which even recommended and seconded staff to Botswana is not doing well. The KMC is in a very sorry state. The machines are old and obsolete. Most of them are just good for scraping. Technology has changed and the KMC is heavily in debt.
