"content": " Mr. Speaker, Sir, I thank Sen. Sang for bringing this issue on the Floor. In the answer by the distinguished Senator for Kirinyaga who is the Chairperson of the Committee on Education, he should also tell this House and the country why the governors of Uasin Gishu and Elgeyo Marakwet counties, accompanied by some four or five Members of Parliament raided the University and attempted to evict the acting Vice-chancellor from his office, alleging that it was because he was not “our man”. In so doing, let me digress a little and thank the Senator for Elgeyo Marakwet and the Deputy President for telling off those ethnic bigots who displayed the most primitive and archaic behavior that one can expect in a country such as Kenya. Finally, the chairperson should tell the House and the country whether criminal proceedings are going to be preferred against those bigots who committed the offences in broad daylight, in front of cameras. They uttered obscenities that can endanger the fragile peace that we enjoy today, particularly in an area that was the epicenter of the post- election violence."
