"content": "Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I beg to ask the Minister for Energy the following Question by Private Notice. (a) What is the reason for Government shift in position with regard to fuel price control, considering that the Minister has previously indicated that he was unable to control fuel prices? (b) Is the Minister aware that the recent astronomical increase in fuel prices is as a result of faulty machines at the Kenya Petroleum Refineries, demurrage charges accrued from the imported crude oil and the delay in offloading which is due to under-handling capacity at Kipevu which can only store up to 33,454 metric tonnes of petrol? (c) What urgent measures is the Minister taking to address the issues in “b” above? I am sorry I came in late. It is because of the traffic jam."
