    "content": "Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, I rise to support this Motion. This is the Senate and in the last six or so months, we have been seriously engaged on issues that fall within our mandate. The reorganisation by the Senate Majority Leader, as proposed in this Motion, will ensure that we are able to carry out our responsibility. I agree with the concerns that have been raised. However, as the protectors of devolution, this moment is very critical especially as we proceed towards the elections. One of the things that I am sure will be happening in each and every county in this country is that every leader will be called to account on the delivery of their mandate. As a Senate, we will be called to account on what we have done. Therefore, the committees that are particularly tied with the responsibility of ensuring that this Senate carries out its responsibility should help this Senate in carrying out that mandate. Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, I must join my colleagues in lauding the work being done by the Sen. (Prof.) Anyang'-Nyong'o led Committee. However, the problem is that the Committee is still handling reports of 2013/2014. One is left wondering at what point we will get to 2014/2015, 2015/2016 and 2016/2017. Is the pace at which we are carrying out our responsibilities in various committees slow?
